We highlight a number of items, which we hope you will find interesting.
HANDLING HEALTH PRODUCTS:
The first covers a recently completed local project for handling health-care products (see pictures). The project involved 2 levels of powered roller conveyors and 1 level of gravity roller conveyor to handle plastic crates containing boxes of product.
The system automatically feeds the crates to work benches for order re-boxing. There are several chain transfer units controlled by photo sensors to transfer crates from the main line to the work benches. Empty crates are returned by the powered roller conveyor at the lower level. To accommodate the new enlarged conveyor system functions the PLC based control system was re-programmed to ensure the conveyors operated successfully. This project was part of an expansion and relocation and our Project Engineer, John Drakeley, played a key part in all phases of the project to ensure minimum disruption to our customer's operations.
The second item refers to Operator Training of customer personnel involved in operating and maintaining conveyors and conveyor systems. This is becoming a standard requirement to comply with company insurance policies. The best time to do this is when new conveyors are being installed and commissioned as our experienced engineers on-site normally carry out the training. If this is not possible it can be organised at a later date and then on a regular annual basis, as required.
On completion of the Training Programme we issue our customers with a formal Certificate of Attendance.
